Saw door frame set at face of casework/ bookcase instead of at wall. Usually casework is at least 14" deep (and these days many set lower cabinets sufficient to hold media boxes / upper shelves to manage flatscreens). That helps to solve awkward transition at french door but presents other issues. Since longer narrow space is easiest to put to use when door is not at end but somewhere mid-space and both ends are available inside for fixtures / layout, that would mean integrating door (and possibly glass transom for borrowed light) into casework wall. Want to mention a nifty door option i saw integrated into wall of casework.

Saw you were investigating casework for potential end wall option. Think opportunities for new lighting placed as you desire, insulation, even surround sound for the vintage vinyl could be built in. If enough interest is generated, our marketing team would consider bringing this jar back." We receive several inquires from consumers regarding this size jar. The 1-1/2 pint size jar was discontinued several years ago and our inventory has been depleted. "We appreciate your interest in Jarden Home Brands products.

I wrote several letters to people at Ball Corp and Jarden Home Brands, the current manufacturer of Ball jars. I think I learned this first from the Garden Web. Guess what? These jars are no longer being made. All winter I kept checking at likely sources - hoping to get a jump on the first jars to hit the shelves for canning season. I went to my local Ace Hardware store (and my True Value, OSH, etc). Of course, they made wonderful spontaneous hostess gifts. They were perfect for green beans and would have been perfect for asparagus. I had grabbed some lovely Ball jars from my jar stash that are 1-1/2 pint capacity.

I used a recipe from Sunset Magazine as a jumping off point and the result was crunchy, garlicky, spicy, dilly beans. Last summer I put up some green beans from my garden.
